XP end of life message

March 17th 2014 in Uncategorized

Interesting, I saw this dialogue today after updating an XP VM and restarting.  The VM in question has all update processes turned off. My understanding was that this dialogue would only appear if Windows/Microsoft Update was set to automatically check for updates…

Of course everybody should use Windows/Microsoft Update and make sure all of their software is regularly updated.  This VM only has everything turned off to ensure an unchanging testing environment.
