Enterprise Resource Management is sorely lacking in the current version (Release Candidate) of VSTS and TFS.
When does Microsoft plan to integrate Project Server with Team Foundation Server?
Here is a good example of the impact of NOT having enterprise resource management.
Supose a developer, I’ll call him Bill, is assigned to 3 different project plans in the next 30 days. Currenlty Bill is a “local resource” to each plan. Bill puts in for a 10 day vacation. Someone must open Bill’s resource calendar in each of the three project plans, an indicate that Bill will not be avaliable for that period. The plans must then be published before the tasks are rescheduled. At least in Project Server, only one calendar had to be updated.
